Our Lives, Their Wars!
From June 13-17 2026, let’s mobilise against the G7 summit in Évian and the G7’s impact on the world!
Created in 1975, the G7 perpetuate the legacy of empires that built their wealth on the plundering of the world. It is not a space for peace or cooperation between peoples, but a centre of power serving the interests of the ruling classes, multinational corporations, and creditors. They decide on war, extractivism, austerity, and repression.
Our hospitals are closed or are underfunded, the borders kill, our children inherit a ravaged planet, and a majority of the population barely survives. Bodies are exploited to maintain the Western lifestyle, and wealth is siphoned off to tax havens. Their wars are not ours. Their wars just serve G7 interests and rivalries, but these wars are paid for with OUR LIVES, OUR BODIES, OUR TAXES, and OUR FUTURE – and even more so with the LIVES of those on the front lines.
The G7 initiate, support, and profit from wars, genocides and violence around the globe, whether in Afghanistan, the Amazon, Baluchistan, Cuba, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Greenland, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Kanaky Islands, Kurdistan, Lebanon, Libya, Mozambique, Myanmar, Palestine, Sahel, Sudan, Ukraine, Venezuela, Western Sahara, West Papua or Yemen. Through these actions, they enforce global white supremacy, racist capitalism, and colonial extractivism to further fuel their economies, including their weapons industries, which directly profit from these conflicts.
This system has faces!
G7 governments account for more than 50% of global military spending. Waging wars that devastate ecosystems, poison communities, massively increase carbon emissions, while facing zero accountability. But this is not inevitable; these wars are THEIR political choice. Other people and peace-centered choices are possible: redistribution of wealth, internationalist solidarity, true Global South sovereignty, self-determination of peoples, social and climate justice, fundamental rights, and genuine democracy.
Global South countries bear the brunt of G7 imperialist wars and the climate crisis, despite contributing least to either. To make matters worse, they are strangled by debt, which G7 creditors, the IMF, and the World Bank (dominated by G7 influence) extract brutally. Meanwhile, the Global North’s climate debt, 70 times greater than the current debt of the Global South, remains entirely unenforced. Cancelling Global South debts is essential to fund public services and climate action to enable a just ecological and social transition.
And alternatives already exist. Ranging from working-class neighbourhoods to resistance and liberation movements – in both the Global South and the Global North.
The mobilisation against the G7 is gaining momentum in Geneva through a coalition that currently includes around fifty organisations. Swiss authorities are threatening to ban the mobilisation, further intensifying anti-democratic and repressive actions, even going so far as to attack the right to protest.
So let’s organise to:
- Strengthen the mobilisations and demonstrations on June 13th and 14th in Geneva (https://nog7ge.noblogs.org/)
- Organise events in your own communities, before and in connection with the G7 summit, especially in the G7 countries.
- Create a local counter-narrative to the one imposed by the G7.
Together against the G7, the far right, imperialism, racism, oppression, wars, and the destruction of life! Let’s foster internationalist, anti-fascist, anti-patriarchal, anti-colonial, and anti-capitalist solidarity. Let’s take back control of our lives!
